I work with my own Artist's Monotype technique, which is based on carbon-copy paper thermal press transferring (monotype), as well as collagraph print, graphite, ink and some other techniques.
Though carbon-copy paper is not usually considered a material for making serious art, through much time and experimentation I was able to unlock a universe of possibilities, and transform it into a versatile tool. I love this technique, because it gives me the possibility to transfer amazing amounts of detail onto paper, in any shape I want.
The most intriguing aspect of using carbon paper hot pressing is that I never know exactly what the final result will be until I am finished. While I am able to control most of the process, there are always unexpected, pleasant nuances to the finished piece, which keeps the entire process exciting.
